Spiritual Life and Enrichment
The areas of Religious and Spiritual Life are central to the purpose of every parish - they are the very reason for our existence. In addition to the personal prayer of each parishioner, opportunities exist to deepen the awareness of faith and the implications it bears on human experience. Most enrichment opportunities occur between September and May. Check the bulletin for exact times and location.
Adult Sunday School. Occurs on Sunday morning following the CFP calendar, between the Masses. Each year, a diverse series of short classes are offered. Length of program - 1 hour.

A few staff meetings occur during the year. Class size is usually15-25 students. Time Requirement: 1½ hours on Sunday mornings and preparation time.
Confirmation is a two-year program beginning with students in 9th grade. The first year focuses on education of the faith. The second year focuses on implementing the education into one’s life. Students must be 16 or older when their Confirmation class celebrates the Sacrament. Classes run September to May each year. Registration is in August.
JustFaith. Weekly meetings enable adults to prayerfully explore Catholic social justice teaching and thereby grow in faith. JustFaith is a nation-wide program centered around the Church’s challenge to live the gospel in the real world. The weekly assignments include scripture readings, books, videos, conversations, and action. JustFaith (30 weeks) and JustMatters (8 weeks) are offered periodically in the parish.
Men’s Faith Group. Occurs monthly on a Monday evening from 5:45 – 6:45 pm. It consists of a prayer service and a brotherly drink.
Ministry of Praise. Weekly this group receives a list of prayer concerns of our parish community. They commit to praying daily for these special needs. This is one of the ways a person who is homebound can contribute to the faith life of St. Charles. Time Requirement: At least 10 minutes every day.
If you have a prayer request for this ministry, contact the parish office and ask that your concern be added to the Ministry of Praise list.
Sponsors for “Journey of Faith”. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which individuals interested in becoming Catholic are introduced to the Church and its teachings. This process requires sponsors for each catechumen (or candidate). Sponsors are parishioners who wish to share their faith life with others. They are usually expected to attend the RCIA classes during the year and to share the Journey of Faith with the person they sponsor through Easter and their reception into the Church. Time Requirement: 1½ hours on Thursday evening, September to Easter, plus retreats and liturgical events.
Women’s Prayer Dinner. Occurs one Monday per month, September to May, 5:30-7:00 p.m. This is a time for women of all ages to share a meal, visit, and devote time to prayer.
Women’s Prayer Dinner Volunteers are needed to make desserts, set-up, and clean-up. Time Requirement: 2-3 hours per event.
