Elizabeth Lofties, a fourth grade teacher at St.Charles Borromeo Catholic School, has been awarded the 2011 Archbishop Paul S. Coakley Catholic School Educator of the Year Award. Mrs. Lofties is a veteran teacher with 29 years of service, 22 of them spent at St. Charles. The Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma provides the award annually. The winner receives a $500 award and the school a $5,000 grant. Mrs. Lofties is noted for her loving and dedicated classroom style, but her commitments do not stop there. She has also been the school’s yearbook sponsor for 23 years, as well as coordinator of the school’s geography bee and spelling bee, and is a member of the Textbook Review Committee.
